Glasgow gets ready for COP26 – 31 October to 12 November

The city of Glasgow as we know it, is in the final stages of preparation for the climate conference COP26, which takes place from 31 October to 12 November 2021.

Glasgow will welcome over 25,000 delegates, including 120 world leaders. The Acorn Hotel, although sold out for the duration of the conference, are ready to welcome all our guests and make sure that their every need is taken care of.

The Acorn Hotel owned by the McQuade group of properties, is a family-owned hotel in the heart of the city centre, we are ideally located for easily accessing the SEC in Glasgow, where delegates will congregate to attend talks.

Some of the world’s most prominent leaders such as Joe Biden and Emmanuel Macron will arrive in Glasgow to discuss climate goals for the next ten years, so do keep an eye out for traffic disruptions, especially in the city centre.

It is important to note that selected city centre attractions will close in Glasgow for the duration of the conference, these include Kelvingrove museum, Gallery of Modern Art, Kelvin Hall, and the Riverside Museum.

For any of our guests that are due to arrive just before or after the COP26 conference ends, we would strongly suggest that you reconfirm your plans before arrival in case of any unforeseen disruptions.

Glasgow will be buzzing with the number of visitors arriving at the end of this month, and the staff and management at the Acorn Hotel, are proud to be a part of this incredibly important global assembly.

In case of any last-minute cancellations, please contact at the Acorn Hotel and we will do our very best to help you.
