OVO HYDRO

A ticketed event at the Ovo Hydro in Glasgow, usually means the megastars are in town. It has played host to such events as the Commonwealth games, MTV Music Awards and outside of current restrictions can host over 14,000 ticketholders. SWG3

Just 20 minutes by foot from the Acorn Hotel is one of Glasgow’s most diverse and distinctive venues, SWG3. Located in Finnieston, it offers a mix of creative spaces for work, play, entertainment and more. A popular event includes Bongo’s Bingo, which really cannot be explained, it must be experienced! KELVINGROVE BANDSTAND

Isn’t it amazing to this that this venue is almost 100 years old? This iconic open-air venue which consists of a bandstand and amphitheatre can be found in Kelvingrove Park, just a short hop from the Acorn Hotel.  Many local and visiting bands and choirs can be heard performing there on any given day.

Citizens Theatre

As the original Citizens Theatre undergoes a major redevelopment, the Citizens Theatre is found presenting some shows at Tramway, found just off Pollokshaws Road. The theatre stepped in history and regularly presents an eclectic mix of contemporary and modern theatre productions.

Plays host to top stars and shows including the best of Musical Theatre, seasonal pantomime, and international comedians. Plan your visit well in advance to a show here, they sell out fast! Big shows such as The Book of Mormon, Hairspray and Alan Carr are set to tread the boards in 2022.

The Theatre Royal

Comedy Clubs

The Stand Comedy Club

Open 7 nights a week for comedy and is the only full-time comedy club in Glasgow. Located in the west end of the city, weekend nights are premium and tend to book up quickly due to limited space.

The Rotunda Comedy Club

This comedy club is located inside the north rotunda at entertainment quay, adjacent to the SEC Hydro, Glasgow. They operate a great comedy dinner show and alumni from their early days include Alan Carr and John Bishop, not bad! Disabled access at the venue.

The Glee Comedy Club

Another comedy club relieved to be back open as we emerge from the restrictions of Covid 19, it’s located in Renfrew Street, Glasgow. Hilarious stand-up comedians perform every weekend a wide range of beverages are available to pre-book at the Glee bar.
