TRNSMT Festival Landing Soon!

TRNSMT Festival Landing Soon!

Glasgow is already awash with exciting opportunities to see and hear your favourite bands and artists. From the SSE Hydro on the banks of the Clyde, which hosts international stars all year round, to the gritty, Indie atmosphere of the Barrowlands Ballroom in the city’s East End. The time was ripe then, and the crowd eager, for a new music festival to make its mark on the Scotland’s busiest metropolis. Enter: TRNSMT.

The five-day music bonanza sets out from the off to be a little untraditional. Taking place over 5 days on two separate weekends, it’s well-suited to those who simply want a day pass to get a glimpse of their idols, or you could plump for a weekend ticket to maximise the bang for your buck and take in a huge variety of sets. Its inaugural year was in 2017 but don’t let the youthful demeanour fool you – the event organisers really know how to throw a party and have shown themselves to be adept at attracting a truly international crowd of artists.

TRNSMT Festival Landing Soon! Acorn Hotel Glasgow

Enough waxing-lyrical about how simply fabulous this new highlight on the Glasgow calendar is – let’s get to the good stuff; who exactly is playing and what can you expect from TRSMT 2018? Well, headliners include Stereophonics, Liam Gallagher, The Killers, Artic Monkeys and Queen + Adam Lambert – phew! If that’s not enough to whet your appetite then how about trying on a little CHVRCHES, Texas, Jessie J, Courteeners and Franz Ferdinand on for size? Outside of the big-name acts you’ll find the niche, soulful styling of Jessie Ware and local celebrity, Gerry Cinnamon, warming up the vocal chords to wow the crowds. Cinnamon is sure to set the place alight with his strong Glasgow following and the support of his home nation behind him! Expect an electric atmosphere and a good swally (also known as a drink – to those from out of town!) to be had by all.

The city is bound to be full to the brim during the festival dates so make sure you plan ahead and book your accommodation early. The Acorn Hotel is a perfect base; close enough to walk if the weather’s fair or take a short train or taxi ride into the city centre if you’re not so lucky with the skies. It’s far enough, too, that you won’t be kept awake by any of the revelers! We’ve got a range of comfortable rooms to suit your party size and if you’re looking for an after-hours beverage we couldn’t be better placed, with all the bars and restaurants of the famous Sauchiehall Street on our doorstep. Even better, we have a 10% off promotion running for all days of the TRNSMT festival! Check out our deal blog and website for more information.

We’d love to welcome you to what promises to be some of the most electrifying days and night the city has to offer in 2018, and of course, will be on-hand to help with your questions and queries on arrival.
