Terms & Conditions

Arrival - Upon booking or checking in a pre authorisation will be made from the credit card details provided. This is held against cancellation out with our cancellation policy, non arrival, additional costs incorred during the stay ie bar/damages/telephone/breach of smoking policy etc. The guest who provides his or her credit/debit card for groups of 2 or more will be held liable for any extras/damages/behaviour of all members of their group.

Cancellation Policy -
48 hour cancellation policy. If you cancel or depart early, please inform us before 11am, 2 days prior to this. In the event of failure to give sufficient notice we will charge one night's accommodation per room being charged to the guest's credit/debit card.

Check in/Check out - Check in is from 1:30pm. Check out is by 11am. Failure to do so will lead to the hotel charging for an additional night. Any request to change these check in/check out times must be requested in advance.

Damage to hotel property/loss of keys -
Must be paid at reception before departure.

Guest entry - The staff reserves the right to refuse a guest entry and accommodation if the management reasonably considers that the guest is under the influence of alcohol, drugs; is dressed inappropriately or is deemed to be behaving in an abusive, alarming or unacceptable manner. The establishment reserves the right to ask a guest to leave if he/she is causing a disturbance to other guests or hotel staff or is behaving in an unacceptable manner. A refund will not be given to any guest that is asked to leave for any of the aforementioned reasons.

Loss/Damage - The establishment shall not be held liable to a guest for any loss or damage to property caused by the misconduct or negligence of a guest or an act of God. The use of the room's safe is used at the guest’s own risk. The establishment is not liable for any loss or damage caused to a guest's vehicle. Guests will be liable for any damage, loss or personal injury that they may cause at the hotel.

Pets - No pets allowed with the exception of guide dogs.

Reserving a hotel room - It’s possible to reserve rooms by telephone, fax, email or by the online booking system. A limited number of rooms may be available online and therefore if you find your preferred booking dates are unavailable this should be checked by phoning the Acorn Hotel. We will check availability for your chosen dates in the first instance. A deposit may be made but is not essential to secure your booking. We accept cash in sterling, all major debit and credit cards and cheque with your banker's guarantee card.

Smoking – The Acorn has in place a strict no smoking policy. If a guest smokes in their room or their self-catering apartment a cost of £100 per room will be charged to their credit/debit card to cover the cost of fumigating their room(s).

- Telephones are charged at 20p + VAT per unit for local calls.
