One of the most colourful events on the calendar are the gymnastic Championships. You’ll see death-defying tricks galore as daredevils take to two wheels (or less!) to impress the judges. Pass through the city centre on the way home and treat yourself to a good feed after a day of thrill-seeking – try The Dhabba for a North Indian feast and a cool glass of Cobra to round the day out.
One of Glasgow’s most impressive sporting venues is the Sir Chris Hoy velodrome set in the heart of the regenerated East End. Take a trip over on the train to be wowed by high-speed track cycling and make sure to grab lunch at the excellent eatery, Tibo, on Duke Street in between heats. You could even get some of your own fun on two-wheels by hiring a street-bicycle for the trip home.
