Easter Fun in Glasgow

Easter Fun in Glasgow!

The Easter bunny is hopping its way into town soon and if you’re visiting us at the Acorn Hotel during the chocolatey season then you’ll need some insider tips on what’s good to see and do in the area. We love scouting out the best activities for you and the rest of our party; whether you’re on a family holiday or couple’s weekend away, there’s something going on in Glasgow that will suit you.

Become a Real-Life Pirate for the Day

The Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum and Riverside Museum both play host to this playful event. Try your hand at making your own bandana or creating a treasure trove artwork and boat in a bottle. Events run from 9th to 15th April between the two venues and it’s sure to be a fantastic day out for all ages.

Easter Crafts in the Park

Glasgow’s biggest park is set to come alive this Spring with a range of Easter-themed activities available for free. Expect crafts, games, an alternative egg-hunt and even free rides on the resident Clydesdale horses. Events are also running at Glasgow Green in the city centre, so if you’re feeling energetic, you can walk to the Green, taking in sights along the River Clyde as you go.

Shop at the Maker’s Market

If you’ve come by car or are up for an adventure by train then head to the picturesque town of Milngavie (pronounced mull-guy, if you can believe it!) for some retail therapy. Handmade goods and the odd tasty delight are on offer with a view of the Campsie Fells on a good day – lovely!

Catch a Theatre Show

Bunny is a true coming-of-age tale written by Olivier-award winning writer, Jack Thorne, and tells the story of 18-year old Katie who must negotiate the trials of dating, street violence and multiculturalism. Suitable for teenagers and adults alike, this show is sure to be a hit and runs from March 28th to April 7th.

Roll Your Way to a Good Time

Even the little ones can get involved in this one with Rollerstop kiddie discos suitable for ages 4 and upwards. Get your skates on at their weekly Sunday party with extra dates added for the springtime holidays. On selected days between Friday 30th March and 13th April there’ll even be a special appearance from the Easter bunny!

The King is Back!

The Elvis festival takes Glasgow by storm between the 7th and 9th of April so if you and your other half (or even the kids!) enjoy the old rock ‘n roll King’s greatest hits then head to the Double Tree Hilton Hotel to get your groove on.
